PROPERTY - Stamp Duty 2010

Properties purchased at under £125,000 do not attract stamp duty.

First time buyers who purchase a property under £250,000 before the 24th March 2012 pay NO stamp duty.

Properties between £250,001 and £500,000 attract stamp duy at 3% of the purchase price.

All other properties over £500,001 attract stamp duty at 4% of the purchase price.

NOTE

As from 6th April 2011 all property purchase at over £1,000,000 will attract stamp duty at 5% of the purchase price.
